120W Stereo Amplifier using STK4241V

Here is a circuit 120 watt stereo amplifier using STK4241V. The MAX9710 a stereo audio power amplifier capable of delivering 2 x 120 W of the IC to put loads of 8 ohms. MAX9710 can be operated from ± 32V single power supply of ± 54V.

This amplifier circuit is ideal for audio devices for home supply. STK4241V amplifier specifications might lead one to believe that you can use supply voltages of ± 78V. With zero input signal (and therefore no way out) I could, but I would not recommend anything better than ± 45V 8-ohm loads, if expected, although ± 54V will be fine if you can provide a good heat sink.

Voltage Doubler Circuit Using NE555

The circuit diagram of a very simple voltage doubler using NE555 timer is shown here. Here IC NE555 is wired as an astable mutivibrator operating at around 9KHz. The base of the two transistors (Q1 and Q2) is shorted and output of the astable multivibrator (pin 3) is connected to it. When the output of astable multivibrator is low, Q1 will be OFF and Q2 will be ON. The negative terminal of the capacitor C3 will be shorted to ground through T2 and it will be charged to the input supply voltage. When the output of the astable multi vibrator is high, transistor Q1 will be ON and transistor Q2 will be OFF. The capacitor C4 will be charged to the voltage across capacitor C3 plus the input supply voltage (that is double the input voltage). This is how the circuit works.

This voltage doubler circuit can deliver only up to 50mA output current and above that current limit the output voltage will be dramatically reduced. The actual output voltage will be around 19V for a 12V DC input and also the output voltage will be a bit unstable. Anyway, for low current applications this circuit is well enough.

Circuit Diagram

Important Points

  • The circuit can be assembled on a vero board.
  • The output current should not be allowed to exceed 70mA.
  • IC1 must be mounted on a holder.

Fan Controller Using Just Two Component

The Maxim MAX 6665 (www.maxim-ic.com) provides a complete temperature-dependent fan controller. It can switch fans operating at voltages of up to 24 V and currents of up to 250 mA. The IC is available from the manufacturer in versions with preset threshold temperatures between +40 °C (MAX6665 ASA40) and +70 °C (MAX6665 ASA 70). The device’s hysteresis can be set by the user via the HYST input, which can be connected to +3.3 V, connected to ground, or left open. The following table shows the hysteresis values available:
HYST = Hysteresis
open = 1 °C
ground = 4 °C
+3.3V = 8 °C

Fan Controller Circuit Diagram

The other pins of the SO8 package are the FORCEON input and the status outputs WARN, OT and FANON. The test input FORCEON allows the fan to be run even below the threshold temperature. The open-drain output WARN goes low when the temperature rises more than 15 °C above the threshold temperature, while the open-drain output OT indicates when the temperature is more than 30 °C above the threshold. The push-pull output FANON can be used to indicate to a connected microcontroller that the fan is turned on.

Open Garage Door Using A Smartphone

You do almost anything with your mobile phone, but when it comes to your garage door, you have to resort to another remote control. This garage door opener does not require the installation of an application and it works with any phone that has a web browser built-in. The system is based on the tux-graphics Ethernet board. The circuit diagram has external connections, relay and optional connection to switch to sense the state of the door. The relay contacts are then to be connected in parallel to the wall mounted push buttons inside your garage. They mounted the Ethernet board on a small piece of wood together with some screw-on terminations for the cables.

Microphone Amplifier using MAT02

This microphone amplifier circuit electronic project is designed using MAT02 dual monolithic transistor and few passive electronic components .This microphone amplifier circuit allow use of microphones with different impedance and provides a voltage gain of 20 dB and 23.5 dB (amplification 10 and 15), selectable from a switch. Preamplifier has two stages with direct coupling and reaction, and the input stage operates at very low collector current to minimize the noise.

Micrhophone

Output impedance is approximately 70 ohms at a gain of 23.5 dB. Low power consumption (approx. 2.5 mA) and power from a 9V battery make it ideal for portable applications. Since the resistor R3 is responsible for input impedance and a few other important features of preamplifier, with R3 = 220 k, the input impedance is 30 k. Change the value of R3 to 6.8 k input impedance dropped to about 1 k.

Switching Regulators Using LM 2575 and LM 2577

Switching regulators are available is different circuit configurations including the flyback, feed-forward, push-pull, and non-isolated single-ended or single-polarity types. Also, the switching regulators can operate in any of three modes – step-down, step-up, or polarity inverting.

LM2575

LM2575 switching regulator

LM 2575 series of regulators developed by National Semiconductor are monolithic IC’s that provide the active functions for step-down (back) switching regulator, capable of driving a1A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V and an adjustable output version.

Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation and a fixed-frequency oscillator. LM 2575 series offers a high-efficiency replacement for popular 3-terminal linear regulators. It substantially reduces the size of the heat sink, and in many cases no heat sink is required. Fixed output voltage version is illustrated in figure.

Metal Detector using TDA0161

These metal detectors circuit is using TDA0161 monolithic integrated circuit designed for the detection of a metal body by detecting variations in high frequency eddy current losses. For metal detection requires an external circuit TDA0161 LC tuned.

The output signal is determined by changes in the current bid. Independent of supply voltage, this current is high or low by the presence or absence of a metal object nearby. Metal detector This circuit uses two LED indicators that provide a visual indication of the presence or absence of metals around the coil. To adjust the circuit need to make sure there is no metal near the coil and then set the fine tuning of a "middle ground". After that you need to adjust the course adjustment to turn the LED and adjust the fine tuning to turn off the LED.

5 band graphic equalizer using a single IC

This schema uses a single chip, IC BA3812L for realizing a 5 band graphic equalizer for use in hi-fi audio systems.
The BA3812L is a five-point graphic equalizer that has all the required functions integrated onto one IC. The IC is comprised of the five tone control diagram and input and output buffer amplifiers. The BA3812L features low distortion, low noise, and wide dynamic range, and is an ideal choice for Hi-Fi stereo applica-tions. It also has a wide operating voltage range (3.5V to 16V), which means that it can be adapted for use with most types of stereo equipment.

http://www.electronic-diagram-diagrams.com/audioimages/12.gif

The five center frequencies are independently set using external capacitors, and as the output stage buffer amplifier and tone control section are independent diagram, fine control over a part of the frequency bandwidth is possible, By using two BA3812Ls, it is possible to construct a 10-point graphic equalizer. The amount of boost and cut can be set by external components. The recommended power supply is 8V, but the schema should work for a supply of 9V also. The maximum voltage limit is 16V. The schema given in the diagram operates around the five frequency bands: * 100Hz * 300Hz * 1kHz * 3kHz * 10kHz
